Samara Stone (she/her)
I am a California licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #51367) with more than a decade of experience in the mental health field. I have Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in psychology from San Jose State University. Prior to starting a private practice, I worked for several Bay Area nonprofit mental health organizations, helping those suffering from substance overuse, mood and anxiety disorders, and life difficulties such as loss, divorce, and homelessness. During these years, I had the privilege of providing clinical supervision to other therapists and helping professionals, mentoring and guiding them to navigate professional challenges, gain confidence as practitioners, and create habits for career longevity.
From these experiences, I have come to believe that the most important factor for people to make positive change is having a particular type of supportive relationship: one where you feel safe, heard, and understood with a person who can hold up a mirror for you to see what is good and right about you (instead of what is “wrong” or “broken”). This kind of connection is key to unlocking healing and growth.
