Samara Stone (she/her)

I am a California licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #51367) with more than a decade of experience in the mental health field. I have Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in psychology from San Jose State University.

My decision to become a therapist stems from my own experiences with loss and healing, which showed me the life-changing impact of feeling truly seen and supported. Before opening my private practice, I worked in Bay Area nonprofits, helping people navigate challenges like substance overuse, depression, anxiety, and major life transitions. And I continue to work part-time as a clinical supervisor, mentoring and guiding other therapists and helping professionals.

Through my work in these different roles, I gained an even greater appreciation for the power of having a safe, understanding relationship—one that reflects your strengths and potential. I aim to create that space for clients, where they feel truly seen, heard, and supported on their path to healing and growth.

I bring together different approaches in my practice to create a therapy experience that works for you. My training includes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, along with mindfulness, Non-Violent Communication, and expressive arts. These methods are backed by research, and I personally connect with them—they’re tools and perspectives I turn to in my own life for a fresh perspective or a way to handle challenges.

Let’s get to know each other.
