My Approach to Guiding You Towards a More Fulfilling Life
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about creating space to reconnect with yourself, clarify what really matters, and build a life that feels more like yours.
In the rush of daily life, it’s easy to feel like you’re just keeping your head above water—caught up in anxiety, worries, or the pressure to do it all. My role is to offer a grounded, welcoming space where you can slow down, be fully seen, and sort through what’s really going on. Together, we’ll explore the patterns, emotions, and past experiences that might be keeping you stuck, and discover new ways forward that feel authentic and doable.
“When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we’re not alone”
I integrate approaches that help you gain awareness, shift unhelpful patterns, and take meaningful action.
Clients often describe my style as warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. With me you’ll experience:
A mix of curious questions and gentle challenges that invite new perspectives without pressure.
Practical strategies couched as offers (not directives) so you’re always in the driver’s seat.
A commitment to being fully present with you, even when things feel heavy.
The frameworks I use and how that might look like in session:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
We’ll practice noticing thoughts and feelings with openness, clarify what matters most to you, and use your values to set goals. Often we’ll use metaphors to make complex ideas feel relatable or to understand your experience in fresh ways. And we might end sessions with an intention by asking: “How do you want to carry this forward this week?”
Mindful-Based Practices
You’ll learn ways to be more present with your experiences and observe them with curiosity instead of judgment. Sometimes this includes simply pausing together in the moment, bringing attention to the breath or body, or trying a guided meditation.
Cognitive-Behavioral Techniques
We’ll identify unhelpful thought loops and behaviors (sometimes using visual tools like a Zoom whiteboard to map things out in real time) and practice reshaping them into more balanced, supportive patterns. This could look like experimenting with new skills or testing out different perspectives together.
Solution-Focused Strategies
We’ll pinpoint what’s working, uncover your strengths, and build on them with realistic steps. I’ll celebrate successes with you—no matter how small—and keep our work grounded in what feels meaningful and doable for you.
